Abstrakt: The Parana River is the 10th-longest river in the world, and the second-longest river in South America, second only to the Amazon River. With a length of 3,030 miles (4,880 kilometers), the Parana River runs through the countries of Brazil, Paraguay, and Argentina. The name Parana comes from the word para rehe onava, which means like the sea in the Tupi aboriginal language.
