Abstrakt: Surface water supplies are among the most basic needs of humankind, but water resources are unevenly distributed in both location and time. Surface water includes the oceans, but the term is generally used to refer to nonoceanic water that is most abundant in lakes, both fresh and saline. Streams and rivers are sources of freshwater that are constantly replenished.
