Reflection on the literary genre has been a constant in the constitution of literary history. In this case, the book by Santiago Fernández Mosquera demands attention to the issue with different approaches to traditional genres. In Genres and Literary Construction in the Golden Age, its author analyzes the influential and sometimes determining value of the literary genre in the construction of Cervantes' prose, Calderón's theater or Quevedo's satire. Furthermore, beyond its intrinsic values, the book discovers and demonstrates that the notion of literary genre establishes a connection with the concepts of disappointment and decorum that illustrates the value of the works, as well as the behavior of the writers studied. |
