This thesis focuses on observation of the art expression development in children at the turn from preschool to elementary school. Its theoretical part describes general development of children at preschool and young school age with the emphasise put on the development of drawing. The practical part contains a detailed analysis of human figure drawings and house drawings obtained during two consequent sessions in relevant school institutions. The drawings were analysed using a set of predetermined criteria and by a follow-up assessment. The differences between the developmental progress in girls and boys are also examined. |
