This diploma thesis "Love as the Greatest Commandment" contains an interpretation of verses that deal with the Double Commandment of Love. First, it deals with the biblical understanding of the concept of commandments in general. It then deals with the commandment of love in the Old Testament, where it is found in two places: in the books of Deuteronomy and Leviticus. In the New Testament, it appears in conversation with the scribe in all the synoptic Gospels, which are first discussed separately and then their comparison is given. Furthermore, The New Commandment, which is found in the Gospel of John, and finally selected verses from the First Epistle of John are explained. Following is a summary, update and conclusion. |
