This diploma thesis examines the development of the capital adequacy ratio and its determinants during 2006 – 2016 in selected banks of the Visegrad Group. The included determinants are bank size, leverage, return on equity, LTD ratio and NPL. The regression analysis is used. The findings show a positive correlation between bank size and capital adequacy ratio, which are explained by the conservative nature of these banks. The results also confirm the negative impact of the leverage and the LTD ratio on capital adequacy in all Visegrad countries. The impact of return on equity and NPL is different for each country. |
