The thesis aims to explore those current methods of teaching reading. The theoretical part describes the active learning, its influence on a class climate, the demands it puts on a teacher and the benefits it brings to the learners. Next, we define the concepts of reading comprehension and reading literacy and describe a range of methods and means that contribute to reading literacy development. The practical part analyses the conditions for reading literacy development at primary schools and gives examples of lessons which implement active learning methods into the reading literacy development process. |
