In its the theoretical part the diploma thesis discusses readiness and non-readiness for school attendance and characteristic and criteria of school maturity. It also deals with the influence of the family and pre-school attendance on the start of primary school attendance. It focuses on the enrolling in primary school in a usual or an alternative way. In its research part the cooperation between primary and secondary schools is surveyed via questionnaires. Results are stated and interpreted. Preparatory classes and their influence on the entry into primary schools are also dealt with.
