Popis: This work proves the importance of endoscopic adenoidectomy in secretory otitis media treatment. Efficacy of this operation is considered for all the patients with "glue ear" (177 patients) whitin the group of patients who underwent adenoidectomy or tympanostomy at ENT Clinique FNKV from the 1st of January 2006 to the 31th of December 2006 (total 307 patients). The effectiveness of the therapy is evaluated according to tympanometric and audiometric values and according to the amount of peristent secretory otitis, when reoperation is necessary. The tympanometric values confirm possitive effect of endoscopic adenoidectomy for complete cure of secretory otitis media. The fluid in the middle ear was eliminated in 75 percent of pacients. There is also less readenoidectomies after endoscopic adenoidectomy - as compared to adenoidectomy in inhalation anesthetic. The amount of necessary tympanostomies is reduced too. Significant reduction in morbidity from secretory otitis media after adenoidectomy is shown in few randomized clinical trials mentioned in the text.
