The thesis deals with everydayness of socialism demonstrated on the selected village Bedrichov which is situated in the borderland between Liberec and Jablonec nad Nisou, two important towns of the Liberec region. In the thesis, there is compared the crucial period of socialism (from 1948 to 1989) with the era before the World War II and with the time period after 1989. Oral history which is a specific form of qualitative research method is used for gathering information about world, people and their lives. The first section of the paper describes the theoretical concepts used for studying of everydayness, memories and border regions. In this part is also presented and analyzed the result of the existing research of everydayness in socialism. The main section of the thesis consists of my own research and is divided into individual topics which reflect everyday life as percepted by people living in Bedrichov. |
