The thesis examines the role of a small town as the centre of rural micro-region. The small town examined in this work is Bucovice. The aim of the thesis is to evaluace the role played by Bucovice as a local centre and evaluace the available literature dealing with the isme of small towns. Theoretical chapters define the town's history and characteristics of the area, as well as town districts and villages in the catchment area of Bucovice. Analytical chapters use statistical data regarding mainly the population of the town, commuting to work and services, infrastructure, industry and agriculture. The thesis also includes a questionnaire survey of the town's population and SWOT analysis. |
