| Popis: | The question of union security has been a disputed topic for many years and the controversy still rages. Union security agreements are instruments which require union membership as a condition of initial or continued employment. Union security arrangements exist in many forms; this paper is intended to provide the background and basis of the issue. Chapter I begins with a discussion of the labor movement and the relationship of the worker and a union. Chapter II describes union security in its various forms. In Chapter III an examination of the Taft-Hartley Act is undertaken with specific reference to its impact on the negotiation of union security provisions. Chapters IV and V are devoted to an examination of states' right- to-work legislation. |
