This study was concerned primarily with the experimental investigation of the two-phase nature of the development of large-scale water jets typical of those used in the hydraulic mining of china clay. The study was conducted with the objective of aiding the prediction of optimum hardware design and nozzle operating conditions for the production of Large-scale water jets. In view of the influence of the selection of nozzle design parameters on the two-phase development of such jets, a theoretical investigation was also conducted with the objective of establishing optimum nozzle design parameters. |
