Popis: Presentation of 3D information on digital display devices is a very active field of research. Advances in display technology have allowed researchers to explore novel systems that support multiple users and also present true 3D content without requiring cumbersome instrumentation on the users. At the same time, real life scenarios require the use of mixed 2D-3D content delivery to the users. This thesis focuses on addressing specific challenges related 10 supporting personalized and independent content for multiple users in a mixed-content selling. The main contributions of this thesis are: 1) A detailed investigation into existing multi-view display technology, especially true 3D displays. 2) A study that compares performance for mixed-content multi-display environments supporting either true 3D or stereo 3D. 3) A novel see-through display that supports multiple users with personalized views. 4) A novel tabletop implementation that enables collocation of mixed content to support collaboration. We provide a design summary and guidelines to democratize the fabrication of true 3D displays. The findings of the aforementioned study show that there is a cognitive cost associated with using true-3D displays in a mixed setting. The novel displays lend themselves to many real life usage scenarios and potentially spawn further research regarding interaction and collaboration in mixed content environments.
