| Popis: | The purpose of this study is to examine how young women between 16-24 view their values and future dreams, by showcasing how the respondents from different welfare states experience cross-cultural similarities and differences. The method of semi-structured interviews was used to interview female students from a Scandinavian welfare state and a southern European Mediterranean welfare state. The results were interpreted based on Hofstedes theory of cultural dimensions and the theory of generations. Based on my results I came to the conclusion that young women between 16-24 years are less influenced by cultural differences when it comes to their values and how they predict their future life compared to earlier generations. Instead they are more ethically aware and more interested in their mental health than past generations. The reason for this may be digitalization and globalization. |
