Popis: In a society where digitalization is a main development area, the usage of digital self-tracking devices becomes more and more common. People tend to record everything from exercise to diet and sleep, and then use this information to change their everyday life. The aim of this study is to answer the question of how people are affected by the usage of self-tracking devices on a daily basis. The main method used to reach this goal is semi-structured interviews that are based on themes related to the selected theories. A secondary method that has been used is document and literature analysis. From this study it can be deduced that there are different motives for the use of Personal Informatics despite lack of use of the collected information. The conclusion that can be made out of this study is that even though people don't actively use their information from the device, it's still collected and the user always has the ability to use it. The lack of motives is also a big component when it comes to the non-usage of the collected information. The study has investigated this through interviews with the common user, in combination with theories regarding this thesis. Nyckelord: Personlig informatik, Quantified self, motivationsfaktorer, aktiv användning personal tracking och self tracking.
