Popis: | 107 The purpose of this study is to explore the relationship among ideal- actual work time discrepency, workload, job stress and well-being. On-line questionnaires were completed by 342 employees in Taiwan, in which 301 gave valid responses. Collected data were analyzed using SPSS version 22.0. Results showed that (1) work-time policies do not significantly lead to difference on employee workload, work stress, and well-being. (2) Most employees are not satisfied with their work time (About 70% employees reported discrepancy between ideal- and actual- work time). Employees with a “normal work time schedule” prefer “flexible work time schedule”; employees with “flexible work time schedule” prefer “normal work time schedule”; and those with a “high/low flexible work time schedule” prefer “normal” or “no core” work time schedule. (3) ideal- actual work time discrepency is positively related to workload. Higher discrepancy in work time tends to have higher workload. (4) Ideal- actual work time discrepency is positively related to work pressure. Higher discrepancy in work time tends to have higher work prossure. (5) There is significant positive relationship between workload and work pressure. (6) There is significant negative relationship between work pressure and well-being (7) Work pressure mediates between ideal- actual work time discrepancy, workload and well-being in the workplace. Keywords: ideal work hours, actual work hours, workload, work stress, well-being |
