The purpose of this thesis is to apply the method of characteristics to the numerical solutions of the time-domain Maxwell equations of the electromagnetic scattering from infinite long PEC strips under the illumination of Gaussian electromagnetic pulse and then to study the relationship between the induced current and its width. In the numerical model, the excitation sources employed are Gaussian plane electromagnetic pulses, all metal strips are assumed to be perfect electric conductors (PEC), and infinite in length with finite width which ranges from 1 mm to 5 mm. The computational results exhibited include the electric field and magnetic field distributions over the numerical model, and the induced currents on both side of the PEC strips, and the corresponding spectra. Note that the induced current is function of time whose spectrum reveals information in the frequency domain
