| Popis: | 107 Flat Panel Display is a screen technology developed ever since the end of 20th century, which plays an important role of information broadcasting and knowledge popularization. Through the technology, human is able to implement the light and energy-saving design with vivid color, high resolution and high brightness features into a sleek form factor. This research analyzed the technology specification and demand vs. supply through the development milestone of Flat Panel Display. It verified the market situation, technology challenge, specification limitation and user’s criteria in the beginning, and, used Product Life Cycle to define the relative position of respective products as the foundation to evaluating and planning product development. Next, it leveraged Five Force Model to analyze industry structure, competitor condition, demand and supply, to understand the strengths, weakness, threats, and opportunities for the proposal of developing future product strategy. Result indicated that no everlasting winner but only constant evolver who optimizes on cost and performance can survive. Further, there are always multiple solutions available in the market, not limited to single choice. The winner is being challenged by the late comers with newer technology and better performance; meantime, new challengers are facing problems on poor cost, quality and production capability in the emergence stage. It is difficult to judge who the winner is simply on current status. Nonetheless, two principles could be referred based on the milestone of previous products, which are “supply chain is the eco system”, and “niche market is the priority in emergence stage”. |
