The study on human rights education by using picture books is classified as a curriculum action research. The curriculum in the study aims to teach human rights education for students in the little giant class after school to help students improve the quality of their studies and life. There are four research purposes: first, understand the effect of picture books on students' understanding of human rights. Second, explore the curriculum of human rights education using picture books. Third, analyze the information obtained during the course and evaluate the effectiveness of the use of picture books in human rights education. Forth, explore the relevance of curriculum programs with a human rights spirit and teachers' preparing course plans together. The researcher collected information such as the observation records of the instructor, the student study lists, the student's works, the photoes of the class, and the records of the teacher's meeting during the implementation of the course plan for qualitative analysis. Then use qualitative analysis to evaluate the effectiveness of the course plan. This thesis summarizes the following conclusions: first, the picture books helps students understand the human rights declaration. Second, the course plan using picture books in human rights education helps to improve students’ willness for expression and interaction in class. Third, the use of picture books in human rights education course plans is effective. Forth, a curriculum program with a human rights spirit promotes teachers’ willingness to prepare course plans together. The results of this thesis can be used as a reference for the implementation of human rights education and a reference for resource integration services and teaching field planning by educational administrative agencies.
