In 1945, Japan was defeated in World War II. The Republic of China government took-over Taiwan. There are about 380,000 Japanese people who have stayed in Taiwan became a problem. How to send these people back to Japan, the National Government has had many considerations and plans before the war. The United States suggested that the Japanese be repatriated as soon as possible. However, at that time, most of the industrial fields in Taiwan were mastered by Japanese, and most of the Taiwanese were only grassroots technicians. If all Japanese are immediately sent back to Japan, some jobs will lack professionals. In order to maintain the normal operation of the society and the smooth handover of the industry, the government is considering leaving some Japanese who with expertise to help takeover and demobilization. The Taiwan Forestry Bureau, which is charge of forestry matters has also requisition some Japanese. Although these Japanese people have only stayed in Taiwan for a few years, they still have an impact. This article will focus on the Japanese who were expropriated by the Taiwan Forestry Bureau from 1945 to 1949 to discuss the reasons why the government used these Japanese after the war and how to repatriate them. At the same time, understand the forest industry that the Taiwan government values after the war. Analyze these Japanese positions and the impact when they stay in Taiwan.
