Popis: | 107 As the focus promoted by the Ministry of Education (MOE), problem-based learning (PBL) can develop the active learning, critical thinking, and problem-solving ability in students. Many colleges and universities thus encourage faculties to integrate PBL in their courses. Despite numbers of related studies at home and abroad in recent years, most are course-focused, and little research has investigated PBL’s learning effectiveness from the viewpoint of institutional research (IR) or quantitatively. There are two objectives in this study: (1) conducting IR on the PBL results in many courses of university H in central Taiwan; (2) investigating the key factors affecting PBL efficacy; and proposed a research model to discern the interrelations among learning motivation, peer cooperation, teacher-student interaction, self-efficacy, and learning effectiveness. With students of university H taking courses using PBL as the subject, after gathering research data through quantitative research, this study analyzed the reliability and validity of research constructs, performed descriptive statistics, and tested research hypotheses with SPSS 22 and Smart PLS 3.8.2. This study found that (1) students agree that peer cooperation can enhance the learning effectiveness of new knowledge but is insignificant to enhance motivation and interest of self-learning; (2) “learning motivation”, “peer cooperation”, and “teacher-student interaction” have positive influence on “self-efficacy”, and “learning motivation” is the most important factor affecting “self-efficacy”; and (3) “self-efficacy” has positive influence on “learning effectiveness”. |
