Synthesis and Characterization of Nickel and Zinc Metal Complexes Containing Bis(3,6-di-tert-butyl-1(imidazolium-1-yl) carbazolide)-xylene Derivatives as Ligands

Popis: | 107 3,6-Di-tert-butyl-1-(imiazole-1-ol)carbazole (Im-Cz) reacted with o-xylylene dibromide and m-xylylene dibromide to give 3,3'-(1,2-phenylenebis(methylene))bis(1 (3,6-di-tert-butyl-9H-carbazol-1-yl)-1H-imidazol-3-ium) bromide (oI-Cz-Im-Bn-Im Cz-I) and 3,3'-(1,3-phenylenebis(methylene))bis(1-(3,6-di-tert-butyl-) 9H-carbazol-1 yl)-1H-imidazol-3-ium) bromide (mI-Cz-Im-Bn-Im-Cz-I), respectively. Reaction of (oI-Cz-Im-Bn-Im-Cz-I) and nickel acetate yields (oI- Cz-Im-Bn-Im-Cz-I)Ni, which was characterized by 1H and 13C NMR as well as Mass spectrometry. However, while mI-Cz-Im-Bn-Im-Cz-I reacted with Ni(OAc)2, a dimeric complex, bis(mI-Cz-Im-Bn Im-Cz-I)Ni2 might be formed and confirmed by Mass spectrometry. Moreover, this compound is paramagnetic according to the resonance signal in the NMR spectrum. In addition, (oI-Cz-Im-Bn-Im-Cz-I) reacted with zinc acetate to give (oI-Cz-Im Bn-Im-Cz-I)Zn, which was also characterized by 1H and 13C NMR spectrometry. |
