Popis:	107 Chinese regard the number ''4'' as unluckiness because it sounds like the word for ''death''. On the other hand, the number ''8'' is lucky number because its pronunciation is similar to the word for ''fortune'' in Cantonese. In order to investigate the impact of ''luckiness'' in the real estate market, the hedonic price model is estimated using a sample of secondhand apartment transactions during 2012–2017 in Taipei city. The results show that, the prices of secondhand apartments located on floors ending with ''4'' are lower than on other floors. But there is no price premium for the lucky number ''8''.
