The globalization of financial business not only promotes the innovation of financial products, but also makes the financial boundary among banks, securities and insurances increasingly blur. The development of financial institutions would be oriented toward cross-industry operations, conglomerates, internationalization and large-scale. The effective evaluation of a financial holding company must be judged and measured by macroeconomic environment and company strategy. In this study, three Taiwan-listed financial holding companies from 2008 to 2018 were selected. The four dependent variables are ROA, ROE, EPS and price/book ratio (P/B). The seven independent variables include M1B, monitoring indicator, leading index, coincidence index, lagging Index, CPI, and consumer confidence index. The research methods includes correlation analysis, multiple linear and nonlinear regression regression analysis. The findings are summarized as follows: The empirical results show: firstly, most of the macro-indicators are highly correlated with the financial performance indicators. Secondly, there are five linearly significant macroeconomic indicators affecting the financial performances, i.e., monitoring indicator, leading index, coincidence index, CPI, and consumer confidence index. Thirdly, there are four non-linearly significant macroeconomic indicators affecting the financial performances, i.e., M1B, monitoring indicator, leading index, and lagging Index.
