On the Issues of Self-identification and in Reading Light Novel

Popis: | 107 The purpose of this study was to investigate into adolescents’ reading motivation and fond of which kind of light novels. Another aim was to find out the contents of self-identification of “intrapersonal” and “interpersonal” in the light novels, which loved by adolescents from 2015 to the first half of 2017. The study carried out the survey by interviewing adolescents’ opinions, understanding how they perspective the theme of “intrapersonal”, and “interpersonal” at light novels. The results revealed as three parts as follow: The first is the distribution of self-identification issues in popular light novels from 2015 to the first half of 2017, (1) The characters are arranged to have positive attitudes and behaviors when dealing with plots related to self-identification. (2) There is a lack of complete and in-depth descriptions when dealing with self-identification. Second, the presentation of self-identification topics in popular light novels from 2015 to the first half of 2017, (1) The characters were arranged to face positive attitudes and behaviors when dealing with plots related to self-identification. (2) There was a lack of complete and in-depth descriptions in dealing with plots related to self-identification. Third, reading motivation and material selection preference of adolescent in reading light fiction, (1) Reading motivation for adolescents when reading light novels: 1. Rolling down and creating common topics among friends. 2. Provide a reference for writing and satisfy different life aspirations. 3. Other meanings: light novels for adolescent can enhance the willingness of adolescent to participate in reading and discussion. (2) adolescent’s preferences in reading light novels: 1. The style of painting is beautiful and attractive. 2. The theme and plot content are good, and have ups and downs or innovation. 3. Other influences: make adolescent willing to actively read relevant information, expand relevant interests or make different attempts for content that is of interest in light novels. Finally, based on the results, this research also provides some suggestions as for educators, group workers, and follow-up researchers in light novel related research. 1) To follow-up researchers: (1) Analyze and organize the whole set of light novels. (2) Extensive or in-depth discussion on expanding the sample size of adolescents or group discussion. (3) Researchers understand adolescent and anime, light novel culture before interviewing teenagers 2) To educators and group workers: (1) Educators and workers who intend to use books as text materials when discussing self-identification issues with adolescents can take light novels into consideration. (2) When using light novels as a medium to lead adolescents to think about their own issues, they should discuss the issues together and deepen and guide adolescent's thinking and imagination on the issues. |
