This discourse is based on my reading and exploring related art literature, extending my understanding of the formal beauty and cultural meaning of Chinese decorative patterns, blending the aesthetic consciousness, and practicing the techniques of painting acquired in the past on canvas and wooden boards. In the way of borrowing from the ancients and the present, a new pattern structure and aesthetic form are formed, expressing my emotional awareness of the traditional patterns, and subjectively presenting sensitivity to color. First, explore the aesthetic spirit of Chinese art, the historical origins of traditional decoration and the decorative style. The range covered includes the style and theme of decorative patterns such as traditional artifact art and screen art. Secondly, I study the aesthetic elements and auspicious meanings of the decoration, and understands the humanistic thoughts and cultural meanings under the background of the times. At the same time, I explore the artistic techniques of abstract expression, use the free technique of abstract art as the rendering of the background image of the creation, and use the craft decoration style as the visual beauty of the work. In the selection of contemporary popular themes, I explore the popularization of popular art as a reference to the creation of ideas and forms. The theme of my works is the Chinese decorative pattern as the main element, combined with the image of the popular anime of the otaku family, and with reference to the screen art form of the Edo period in Japan, using mineral media, shell powder, combined with acrylic paint and oil paint. Through this creative research, I want to give new visual expressions and new meanings to traditional decoration in the style, content, and value of the works, and to practice the aesthetic experience and cultural emotions in traditional decorative art exploration. And completed 13 individual paintings on canvas and wooden boards in sequence.
