Popis: | 107 Purposes: To find a regression equation for estimating the maximum oxygen uptake of the senior by arm-crank ergometry exercise test, and to understand the cause of the stop test is muscle fatigue or cardiorespiratory fatigue. Method: The Sensor Medics Vmaxst system was used to measure the oxygen uptake of the subjects during the Astrand 6 minutes cycle test and the arm-crank ergometry exercise test. Also, electromyography of pectoralis major, triceps brachii, biceps brachii, latissimus dorsi and anterior deltoid were recorded during arm-crank ergometry exercise test. The Stepwise multiple regression analysis was used to obtain the relationship between the maximum oxygen uptake and gender, the maximum power, and the heart rate at the end of the test. For the muscle fatigue, mean frequency and median frequency of muscle activity were analyzed during arm-crank ergometry exercise test. Results and discussion: There was a low correlation between the maximum oxygen uptake estimated by the modify equation of arm-crank ergometry exercise and the maximum oxygen uptake estimated by the Astrand 6 minutes cycle test. For the muscle fatigue analysis, there was a significant difference in median frequency between first minute and last minutes for the biceps brachii and triceps brachii muscles. The percentage of the median frequency decade of was similar to the previous studies. Conclusions: The equation for estimating the maximum oxygen uptake of the senior using arm-crank ergometry was established in this study. However, the maximal power in arm-crank ergometry test was affected by muscle fatigue of triceps brachii, biceps brachii muscle. In future, the speed of cycling, duration and increase of power of each stage should be considered in arm-crank ergometry test for estimating the maximal oxygen uptake of the senior. |
