The Relationship among Principal Transformational leadership, Transactional leadership and Innovative Teaching Effectiveness in Junior High Schools of Kaohsiung City: The Moderation of Teacher Regulatory Focus

Popis: | 107 The purpose of this study is to explore whether the principal''s transformational leadership, transactional leadership, and teacher innovative teaching effectiveness will be moderated by teachers'' different individual motivation. In order to achieve the purpose of study, this study adopts the survey research, taking Junior High Schools of Kaohsiung as the research scope, and adopts stratified random sampling method. According to the size of each school, 372 valid questionnaires were collected and analyzed with reliability analysis, correlation analysis and structural equation model. This study finds that different leadership styles of principals have a significant impact on the innovative teaching effectiveness of teachers in Junior High Schools of Kaohsiung. Transformational leadership had a positive relationship with innovative teaching effectiveness. However, transactional leadership had a negative relationship. In addition, the influence of transformational leadership and innovative teaching effectiveness was higher than transactional leadership. Furthermore, through controlling the moderation, the influence of regulatory focus on transformational leadership and innovative teaching effectiveness was not significant, and regulatory focus could strengthen the negative relationship between transactional leadership and innovative teaching effectiveness. At last, based on the findings and conclusions, some practical suggestions were offered for the reference of the school principals, teachers, education administration and future research. |
