The Study of the Elementary School Teachers' Factors Considered, Obstacles and Learning Effectiveness of Outdoor Education-A Case Study of Pingtung Elementary Schools

Popis: | 108 This study investigated the factors considered, the obstacles, and the learning effectiveness, which teachers implement outdoor education in elementary schools in Pingtung County. In addition, the study also analyzed the differences among outdoor-teaching factors considered, obstacle, and learning outcomes. This study was conducted by questionnaire survey. The official sample was 453 google electronic questionnaires distributed by 453 teachers from National Elementary School in Pingtung, Taiwan. 453 copies were effectively recovered, and the recovery rate was 100%. This study used three scales as the test, including the "Outdoor Teaching Considerations Scale", "Outdoor Teaching Obstruction Scale", "Outdoor Teaching Learning Effectiveness Scale", and after collecting the analytical data, using the SPSS 22.0 version of the statistical package. The software is analyzed by item analysis, factor analysis, internal consistency verification, independent t-test, independent one-way ANOVA, Pearson product-moment correlation.The significant level is set to α = .05. According to the results of statistical analysis, the research results are: 1. In Pingtung County, elementary school teachers have the highest average value of "curriculum and teaching" in implementing outdoor teaching factors considered. Moreover, male teachers who’s seniority in service between 6-10 years, agents or substitute teachers, mixed-age class teaching, and have participated in relevant study or training to have a higher degree of implementation considerations for outdoor teaching. 2. In Pingtung County, elementary school teachers have the highest average value of " student " in implementing outdoor teaching barriers. And male teachers who’s seniority in service between 6-10 years or more than 16 years, formal teachers, and administrative teachers, single-level teaching teachers, and did not participate in relevant study or training, are hindered by the implementation of outdoor teaching. 3. In Pingtung County, elementary school teachers implemented the outdoor teaching in the learning effect with the highest level of “information oriented”. Furthermore, female teachers aged between 24-30 years old or 41-45 years old, seniority in service 1-5 years or 11-20 years, agents or substitute teachers, teached in remote areas, and did not participate in relevant study or training who implement outdoor teaching has higher learning effectiveness. 4. There is a significant positive correlation between the factors considered and obstacles in the implementation of outdoor teaching in Pingtung County. 5.The information distributed by elementary school teachers in Pingtung County have a significant positive correlation with the implementation of outdoor teaching considerations and learning outcomes. 6. There is a significant negative correlation between the implementation of outdoor teaching barriers and the effectiveness of learning by Pingtung County Elementary School teachers. This study concludes that teacher implementation of outdoor teaching activities can improve learning outcomes. However, due to considerations and obstacles in the implementation process. According to the result of prior analysis which is recommended that educational related units can support teachers organize outdoor teaching activities continually.
