Popis: | 107 The purpose of this research is to study the process and efficacy of picture books on improving preschoolers’ eating habit. In this study, a qualitative method was conducted on three children who had problems in eating habits. The research aimed to improve children’s eating habits in two aspects, which were "balanced diet" and "attitude on diet." Researchers and children worked together to plan direction of the curriculum, which extended to include understanding of the origin of foods. The learning began on campus and moved out towards the community. We invited parents to accompany children at the market and assist with recognizing the different fruits and vegetables, as well as how to purchase the product. Parents were also invited to work with the children on creating dishes for the parent-child cooking contest. During the study, researchers applied observations, in-depth interviews, introspections, anecdotal records and relevant documents as the main methods of collecting data. The data was mainly based on qualitative analysis. The study indicated the following results: 1. Picture books integrated in learning activities do have a positive effect on improving children’s eating habits. 2. Picture books integrated in learning activities enhances teachers teaching and curriculum planning. Teachers can use diversified teaching methods to plan learning situations for children to explore, experience, discuss, think and problem-solve, which all help children develop positive eating habits. |
