A Study on Optimization of Experience Design for Apps and the Usability – A Case of SunlineApp

| Popis: | 107 With the universality of mobile devices in the world， more and more types of apps have appeared in accordance with consumers’ habits and different consumer groups. How to better match consumers’ habits and adapt to change fast in terms of the functions and uses has become a research topic in more depth in both academia and industries. This study used the messaging software TopCall and SunlineApp of SunlineNP Telecom， a Type II telecommunications business， as samples to test their usability. TopCall is a past type of messaging software of SunlineNP Telecom， and TopCall was renamed SunlineApp as a newly designed app based on TopCall after optimization of usability design in this study. Contains UI visual design and UX usability design. This study aimed to explore the two types of software by sample testing and furthermore understand how apps nowadays optimize their interface design in order to better match consumers’ habits， improve use experience， The optimization experience design process is divided into five phases: (1) usability analysis (2) establishing core values (3) establishing target groups and product positioning (4) interface design (5) usability testing，and discover the before-after differences by the experiment of optimization.The methodology used to test the usability in this study was performance measurement. By designing typical tasks， users were tested on their operating time and the number of errors， and the SUS (Systematic Usability Scale) was administered after the test. After 20 subjects operated the two types of apps， the findings are (1) better efficiency: the average time of completing a single task of a user decreased by 27 seconds at most， (2) better error proofing: the number of errors after completing tasks decreased by 54 percent at most， and (3) greater satisfaction: the average SUS score of the subjects was improved from 29 to 72， a rise of 2.4 times. SunlineApp is better than TopCall in the three indicators of usability testing， which showed the user satisfaction grew after the usability of SunlineApp was improved by the optimization design in this study.
