The main purpose of this research is to figure out that how stroke rate and length affects swimming speed in men’s 100 meters freestyle games. 24 swimming athletes who have participated men’s 100 meters freestyle finals of the national games Taipei 2013, the national games Kaohsiung 2015, and the national games Yilan 2017 are selected as subjects. The swimming game live videos that are uploaded on YouTube website will be collected and analyzed, then, Microsoft SPSS 18.0 will analyze processed parameters statistically. After data processed and result discussion, some findings are showed below: The research has divided 100 meters into 4 patterns (0-25 meters has defined as the first pattern, 25-50 has defined as the second pattern, 50-75 meters has defined as the third pattern, and 75-100 has defined as the fourth pattern). In the comparison of the average time of the first pattern of 3 individual national games, there is a significant difference between 3 groups. Addintioally, the group of 2017 national games Yilan is the fastest one, the group of 2015 national games Koahsiung is in the middle, and the slowest one is the group of 2013 national games Taipei. The group of 2017 national games Yilan has analyzed the fastest stroke rate of the first pattern, the second long stroke length of first pattern, the slowest stroke rate of the third pattern, and the second long stroke length of the third pattern. In the comparison of 3 individual group’s stroke rate and length, there is no significant difference between the third pattern of 3 individual group. There is significant negative correlation between the comparison of stroke rate and length of the first, the second and the fourth patterns. Obviously, the integration of stroke rate and length is the key factor of each pattern. The group of 2017 national games Yilan has applied the strategy of decreasing stroke rate to keep the stable of stroke length, therefore, this strategy has enhanced the efficiency of stroke much more than another 2 groups. In the fourth pattern that used to consume lots of energy, the groups of 2013 national games Taipei, and the group of 2015 national games Koahsiung have applied the strategy of increasing stroke rate to decreasing strike length, however, the strategy of the group of 2017 national games is capable to lower energy consuming, and elevate the efficiency of stroke.
