The Impact of Biological-drawing Teaching Strategy on Learning Achievements and Attitude towards Science of the middle school students ─ Take the human circulation system as an example

This study was to explore the changes in the learning achievements and attitude toward science of the seventh-grade students in the middle school. And it was trying to demonstrate the importance of instructional strategy of biological drawing. This study adopted one-group pretest-posttest design. The research process collected 125 the seventh-grade students of materials from achievement assessment, attitude toward biological drawing lessons questionnaire, students’ drawings, biological drawing scores, students’ feedbacks, and the research notes of the researcher. This study adopted quantitative research of the paired samples t test to analyze the students’ learning effects in attitudes on human circulation system and changes in attitude toward science with qualitative data. The research results showed that based on the core of learning theory, the biological drawing curriculum significantly increased learning achievement among low achievers in science; it also assisted teachers diagnose students’ learning outcome and improved teaching quality; furthermore, it enhanced all students’ biological drawing skill and invoked positive and attitude toward science. Above of all, the principal conclusion was that developing biological drawing curriculum is beneficial to students' learning in science classes and teachers' instruction in science curriculum.
