Popis: | 107 The purpose of this study is to explore using social media for parental communication, dual filial piety and mental health in the different generations. The research method is a secondary data analysis, which is obtained from Panel Study of Family Dynamics (PSFD). This study base on the few sections of Network Usage and Mental Health Scale in 2016, which recruited 3573 adults in Taiwan(baby boomers, 808; generation X, 1339; generation Y, 1426). By using statistical analysis such as descriptive statistics, Pearson’s product-moment correlation, one-way ANOVA, and multi-factor ANOVA conclusions have been found: 1. In “using social media for parental communication” criteria, generation Y is higher than generation X, and generation X is also higher than baby boomers. 2. Baby boomers and generation X more emphasize on the authoritarian filial piety and reciprocal filial piety than generation Y. 3. There is a significant positive correlation between “using social media for parental communication” and “mental health” in generation X and generation Y. However, it is not significant correlation in baby boomers. 4. There is a significant positive correlation between “reciprocal filial piety type” and “mental health” in generation X and generation Y. However, it is not significant correlation in baby boomers. 5. The main effect of “generations” and “reciprocal filial piety type” has significant to people’s mental health. Based on the results, implication of the study for counseling and guidance and suggestion for the future research were proposed as well. |
