Design and Performance Verification of Energy Storage Heat Pump Sludge Drying System

In this paper, a heat pump system with heat storage and cold storage energy is used to store the heat and cold energy generated by the system operation first through the heat pump system. The circulating water pump can circulates the hot and cold water separately to the evaporator and the condenser in the circulation duct, the condenser can heat the circulating air, and the evaporator can condense the vapor in the circulating air. Through the chilled water circulation in the evaporator, too much heat can be removed from the outlet of the drying chamber to make the system reach a stable state of heat balance. In this paper, the energy storage sludge drying system is designed, and after the 3 kg sludge is dried, the required moisture content can be reduced from 80% to 30%. In this study, the suitable components of the drying system is designed and the performance of the system is analyzed. After the system is installed, the chilled water cooling temperature can reach to 12 °C, the hot water heating temperature can reach to 55 °C, the air volume in the drying chamber can reach to 844.611 CMH. The dehumidification rate per hour is 0.3926 kg/hr, the total dehumidification capacity is 9.422 kg/day, and the sludge moisture content from 80% to 30% takes about 9 hours.
