Most common vehicle pollution emissions tests are performed on a chassis dynamometer while simulating vehicle travel conditions. However, driving in the driving cycle has many problems. For example, unpredictable environmental factors such as traffic jams and weather changes make simulation difficult. With the improvement of the concept of environmental protection, it is increasingly important to monitor vehicle pollution emissions on actual roads. Although the Portable Emissions Measurement System (PEMS) has become the official certification program for diesel vehicles, it is very expensive and cannot be used as a monitoring device for large-scale use. As the performance of microcontrollers and micro-sensors is more advanced, the price is getting cheaper, and the gradual practical application of the fifth-generation mobile communication system in the future; Using the Internet of Things to monitor vehicle emissions is not difficult to implement. The study integrates the NHA-506 exhaust gas analyzer, NGK NOx sensor, and pitot tube flow meter. Control the CANBUS shield and NB-IOT shield using the Arduino Mega 2560 microcontroller. The low-cost on-board emission measurement system can continuously measure the CO, CO2, THC, and NOX emitted by the vehicle and returns the emission value to the server in grams per kilometer. This system can be used to explore the relationship between vehicle speed, vehicle type, vehicle emissions, and fuel economy and traffic conditions, and can be applied to predict air quality in the future.
