Popis: | 107 Japan and Russia are the two great powers in the world today. The relationship between the two countries can indirectly affect the development of the Asia-Pacific region and even the whole world. The two countries have opposed each other in the past, such as the Russo-Japanese War in 1904 and the struggle between Japan and Russia in the Asia-Pacific region and so on. Although Japan and Russia are often in a state of mutual competition in the past, at the geo-economic level, because of their geographical proximity, they also have a common economic zone that can be jointly developed. They play a very important role in each other's external economic activities. In the new era after the end of the Cold War and the collapse of the Soviet Union, in order to promote the country’s own economic, social and political stability, the countries basically maintain a peaceful and mutually cooperative state. Between Russia and Japan due to their proximity, in the Far East of Russia, the two countries have developed a concept of mutual cooperation and development in the Far East. Even if Japan and Russia have territorial sovereignty disputes on the Kuril Islands, they have not completely hindered the economic and trade relations between the two countries. It has become a "bridge" between the two nations. The main purpose of this paper is to analyze the economic and trade exchanges between Japan and Russia from 2000 to 2016 by the perspective of geo-economics. |
