Popis: | 107 In order to ensure high levels of effectiveness and reliability, industrial products not only require an adequately planned solution, but also constant design reviews during the designing phase. As one reviews the effectiveness and reliability of a product, one has to test and verify the product on top of the conventional calculations-based methods. This too is a vital segment in product design. The research title is "Design and testing of parking brakes for automobile cars", and will focus on discussing the designing process for parking brakes. Using a specific vehicular model as well as its brake as a case study, one can obtain a quantitative analysis of its effectiveness by focusing on the specifics, wear and loss of materials, as well as the overall performance, measured by means of industrial-grade testing apparatus. This analysis in turn supplements the products design. The equipment used in testing the brake in question is designed specifically for brakes, and can produce more realistic tests by means of loaded-vehicle simulations, together with simulations that account for other parameter conditions such as operating variables and load capacity. By running simulations, results can thus be obtained faster and cheaper whilst not compromising on the reliability of the obtained data. This is therefore an indispensable tool for product designing. The equipment used in this performance test is jointly developed by Minghsin University of Science and Technology (MUST) and a professional local parking brake manufacturer, under an industry-academia cooperative research project. It has been certified by reputable Japanese-based manufacturers, and is able to run static performance test, stop mode tests, load-tailing simulation tests, durability tests, and many other conditions. The results produced have been unanimously affirmed by both local and international automobile manufacturers。Its contribution in evaluating the confidence in braking devices for automobiles is in itself a note-worthy result for the legacy of the development in our local industry. |
