A Study on the Job Responsibilities for Directors of Affiliated Preschool at Public Elementary School in Taoyuan City Abstract The aim of this study was to investigate the responsibilities of the directors from the affiliated preschool of elementary schools in Taoyuan. The in-depth interview was employed based on the Qualitative Research Method. The subjects including the directors of preschool, preschool educators covering teachers and educare givers, the administrative staffs of elementarty schools containing principals and direcotrs were selected. Conclusions and suggestions for further research are discussed, indicating that: (1) New directors were lack of administrative skills to meet the needs of responsibilities, so that the qualifications of directors need to be fixed and there should be one professional director to deal with the interaction of the administative affairs such as general and accounting, and establishing good working atmosphere to help each other among teachers and educare givers, that (2) There is less relationship between the knowledge learned from the workshops for the new directors and their practical work, suggesting the times of workshops could be segregated and a formal directions for new directors should be set up, leting teachers know their need-to-do lists and jobs for the whole year, that (3)The support of co-workers in the school, the establishment of the role of professional head teacher, the regulation of working load, and the economic incentive should be provided to enhance the inclination of being the directors.
