To solve the lack of water and electricity dilemmas in Taiwan, resource conservation, energy conservation and carbon usage reduction are the basic targets. Among the nine evaluation indicators of Green Building, utilization of recycling resources for the production of insulation materials could meet the most important three indicators. Implement of these Daily Energy-Saving Evaluation Indicators, CO2 Reduction Indicators and Waste Reduction Indicators could effectively increase the grade of building in the Green Building Evaluation and increase the value of the building. This research targets to total utilization of recycling resources for the manufacturing of roof insulation material. Alkaline content in the recycling resources would be alkali-activated by the depolymerization/polymerization reaction with calcium content. Insulation materials with adjustable density (1.2~2.4 kg/m3) would be produced. The new materials have low thermal conductance (K value, 0.25~0.7 W/m.K), high compressive strength (300~350 kgf/cm2), and high bending strength (38~70 kgf/cm2), which are highly competitive to the marketing insulation materials. Insulation material produced in this research would create a win-win solution by meeting resource sustainable goal, and also increase the potential value of the building.
