Many studies mentioned that type D personality which contains the characteristics of negative affectivity and social inhibition are associated with coronary artery disease. And, type D personality can deteriorate the prognosis of the disease. Furthermore, cardiac self-efficacy and social support are related to patients' daily life style and symptom control. The aim of this study was to explore the relationship between type D personality traits and health status, and the role of social support and self-efficacy between type D personality traits and health status. The subjects are CAD patients over 20 years old. Data were used from purposive sampling. The study included 187 patients. Males accounted for 96.3% and the average age of subjects was 59.49 (SD= 9.43). The study measured by self-report questionnaires including Type D Personality Scale-DS14 Taiwanese Version, Cardiac Self-Efficacy Scale, Yale Social Support Index And Seattle Angina Questionnaire.
