A study on application of safety strategy to reduce campus injury A case of a elementary school in New Taipei City

The purpose of this research is to find out that doing school safety education strategies whether to reduce campus accidents. The number of samples is in 107 academic year 1,047 students in public elementary school in New Taipei City. Through a series of courses such as learning campaign and safety, convention class let children can judge their own behavior is safe or not. By all of these strategies can reduce campus accidental injury effective. In 107 academic there are 8 classes for the first grade included researcher’s class. And the researcher’s class have a hyperactive child so this class will be the research target. Through the analyzing data of health center from 2015 – 2017 to find out the most accidents happened place and reasons. In September 2018 we cooperate with the friendly campus activities to provide safety education activities. The researcher took observer study and behavior changing skill from “Changing students safety concept” and “Safety doings development”. Until January 2019 compared and analyzed the accidental injury statistic of health center in first semester of 107 academic, I found that the accident rate of campus accidental injury was reduced effectively after detailed record for 5 months. The student’s accidents caused by the broomstick and chase game during the sidewalk sweeping were reduced to zero. The study result showed that implement safety education strategies form “Changing students safety concept” and “Safety doings development” can reduce elementary school students’ accidental injury. Finally, through the study analysis and result to have more conclusions and suggestions. To provide elementary school campus safety education reference and research in the future.
