Popis: | 106 This thesis investigates both synchronically and diachronically the discourse difference of presidential inaugural ceremonies which has three changes of the ruling party transition from 2000 to 2016 in Taiwan. The analysis method of Attitude System in Systemic Functional Linguistics is used to explain how China Times, Liberty Times and United Daily News construct their images for these three presidents and the Cross-strait Relations between Taiwan and Mainland China. Attitude system is concerned with the lexical semantics of discourse which reveals the speakers’/writers’ evaluation and this method helps us understand how these three newspaper offices show their attitudes and their political stands in their reports. The research results show that synchronically the image building of the president and the Cross-strait Relations depend on their political stands of the newspaper offices. And diachronically China Times changed its political stand because it itself underwent the change of various operators. Liberty Times and United Daily News maintain their original political stands. However, their expression is different in the people’s attitudes towards the issue of Unification/ Independence. Through this study we know that newspaper offices use newspaper discourses to convey their evaluation to people. This analysis of lexical semantics helps us understand how newspaper offices use discourses to construct their evaluation of these presidential inaugural events. |
