There are more than ten companies investing in the orthopedic industry in Taiwan. Each has its own strengths in R&D, manufacturing and marketing. Each company is involving in different fields, including bone nails, bone plates, spinal fixation and artificial joints. Taiwan's orthopaedic device industry is entering into the growth period and rapid expansion currently. From the point of the view for long-term management, if manufacturers want to gain a larger market share in this market, there are two major strategic objectives that are indispensable: First, to strengthen the company's brand continuously, Impressing the products information to penetrate the minds of physicians and patients; another strategy is developing new products that are more effectiveness or safety continuously, so the surgeons and patients may spend more money to buy. This study is based on the author's work experience in the orthopedic industry, as well as the understanding of the current state of the industrial environment, plus case company internal data, periodicals, newspapers and magazines, research reports, academic papers, network information, etc. Five-force analysis, BSC matrix, Ansoff Matrix, SWOT analysis, etc. were used to analyze the competition strategies of the case company, and the conclusions and recommendations of this study were finally summarized.
