Popis: | 106 This thesis defines “New Media Art” first. According to “materiel”, “form”, “content” and “media characteristics/ Medium specificity”, there are some available classification on artworks, display, collection, etc. Secondly, the thesis reviews the development of new media art in contemporary Taiwan before and after the year 2000, finding the differences through computer and internet eras. And then it guides to the subject – artworks of Teng-yuan Chang (1983-). Many young artists who emerge after 2000 choose animation and image to create. There are plenty of messages and angles of view on these artists’ works. Teng-yuan Chang uses flat colors and cartoon elements, constructing images based on the narrative of “pseudo-archeology”. Extending the “virtual” and “digital” sense in his painting, Teng-yuan Chang adopts instrumental lenses and animal/biological vision in his animation installation. When seeing Teng-yuan Chang’ s works, viewers feel that the subject and object change by turns. Not only does new media art contain “virtuality” and “computability”, but it possesses “interactivity” and “connectivity”. Teng-yuan Chang makes beholders view works in the first person and the third person through communicating and interacting. His works truly lead people to the different ways of vision, and let them feel the subtle sense of body in space. After a series of “Parrot Man” show up, Teng-yuan Chang’s art becomes form-oriented and successful. He recently makes progress in his painting and installation. It is worthy of doing research and looking forward to his future. |
