These interviewees must have been taking Japanese as their second language program in senior high schools and also taking Japanese language pre university courses in advance. By using the Modified Grounded Theory Approach(M-GTA), qualitative research has been conducted, to analysis the role of the Japanese language pre university courses in Japanese language curriculum articulation between senior high schools and universities in Taiwan. This research aims to clarify the problems in articulation between senior high schools and universities in Taiwan, and also suggests several solutions. According to the study, the course format and the course duration, may be the main cause of the declines in enrollments of students of the university preparation courses. Also, among the interviewees, a group of people are dissatisfied with the universities for not recognizing the preparation course credits. Furthermore, most of the interviewees showed high levels of motivation to learn and capabilities to master the learning skills, and they also can feel fulfilled after taking the harder classes of the pre university courses. Therefore, they all agreed that the pre university courses do help them for adapting the second language courses in the university. Also, most of the interviewees enjoyed the courses that they can learn the skills that can be used in their everyday life and also the courses that introduced the Japanese culture. This research has the following conclusion: 1.The purpose of the, non-language major, second language learning programs should develop into continuous courses that applied to every educational stage, in order to build up the best results of learning. 2.The pre university course curricula can follow the second language program in the 12-year education curricula, and providing a specific learning target. 3.The pre university courses can adapt the online AP Japanese Language and Culture Exam evaluation system, in order to evaluate objectively. 4.The pre university courses are ideal for students who got their recommendations for university admissions already, and therefore can start the course in their second semester in the senior high school. 5.In order to reinforce the Japanese language curriculum articulation between senior high schools and universities in Taiwan, it is necessary to enhance the communication between high school teachers and university lecturers.
