Applied TRIZ Theory to Constructing Innovative Model for Creating a Wearable Device Capable of Indicating Bicycle's Dynamic Status

The aim of this research is concerning an innovative model constructed by applying TRIZ theory, which to be used to create a wearable device for indicating dynamic status of bicycle. This research is starting from observation and experience of dynamic statues of riding bicycle with processes, following with 6 Sigma method, based on DMADV (Define, Measure, Analyze, Design, Verify) 5 steps diagram, to analyze problems by 6W1H1G method, and integrate the Mandala thinking method as well as 9 windows method for finding innovative opportunities. Patent search is the next step after innovative opportunities are found, and then selection of possible related patents based on searching result for applying tools of TRIZ theory to solving the problems remain, resulting in creating an innovative wearable device which is capable of indicating bicycle’s dynamic status for improving rider’s safety while riding. Design of this wearable device has gained the utility model patent of Republic of China, patent certificate number M564229. In addition, the wearable device created by using this innovative model, which can also be deployed to many fast moving activities, such as jogging, skateboarding, roller skating, playing self-balance scooter and driving electric wheelchair, etc., for displaying dynamic status of wearers thus improving wearer’s safety during fast moving so as to reduce accidents and save lives.
