Faced with the fierce market competition in the financial environment, consumer finance staffs (referred to as the goldsmith) are the cornerstones for the banking sector as they contribute to one of the important sources of the corporate profit. Their job performance has a direct impact to the bank profitability. Therefore, the financial industry is increasingly relying on the professional knowledge and skills of consumer finance personnel, with additional training and incubation sections to enhance the competitive advantage. The goal of this study is to investigate personality traits and peer relationships among consumer finance staffs and the impact on their job performance. Study subjects of this thesis are full time employees in the consumer finance banking branch from a bank. Statistical analysis was conducted by the IBM SPSS Statistics package.Based on the results, we found that the "personality traits" of the bank consumer finance staff has significant positive correlation with "peer relationship", "job performance", "task performance", "quality of the work", "work enthusiasm and innovation " and " work involvement". The "peer relationship" of the bank consumer finance staff shows significant correlation with their "work performance", "task performance", "quality of the work", "work enthusiasm and innovation", and "work involvement". Overall, only the "peer relationship" has a negative correlation with the "task performance", rest of the traits show positive correlations.
