Research on Wavelength Hopping with Integrated Arrayed Waveguide Grating and Optical Switch In Wavelength Division Multiplexing Network

In this study, we discussed the addition of optical switch and array waveguide grating (AWG) router in wavelength division multiplexing (WDM), which are used in wired optical transmission architectures to form wavelength hopping and increase the security of WDM network, in order to increase the diversity of privacy and wavelength hopping, we use a random and unpredictable electrical signal to control the state of optical switches, and use a group of a circulator and a fiber Bragg grating to simulate the illegal user who wants to steal the signal. And using an optical spectrum analyzer (OSA) to monitor the state of the wavelength hopping, the experimental results prove that when the wavelength was hopping, even if the path of the transmitted optical changes, the signal detected by the photodetector is still within the range that can be received, and in the case of the illegal user, because the user is locked at a fixed wavelength, when the wavelength hopping, the transmitted signal cannot be captured.
